Can I have rubber solution, thinner or cleaner delivered abroad?

Rubber solution, cleaner and thinner are hazardous substances that we are only authorised to ship in limited quantities in Germany.
Shipping abroad is unfortunately not possible.

Why can't I have rubber solution, thinner or cleaner delivered to a packing station?

Rubber solution, cleaner and thinner are hazardous substances that we are only  authorised to ship in limited quantities in Germany.
However, DHL excludes delivery to packing stations for security reasons. Therefore, please select a delivery address where the consignment can be collected in person.

Can I receive a partial delivery if not everything is in stock?

We always ship orders in one go, so if an item is out of stock when you order, the full order will ship once the out of stock item is ready.

If you require your order to be part shipped, we will accommodate this where possible, however there will be an additional shipping charge, which is to be paid ahead of dispatch.

We are not always able to do this and the standard in-stock lead time will apply for any items you require ahead of other items being made.

Please contact us ASAP if you wish to do this. You can also place separate orders through our website for in-stock and out of stock products for speed.

I cannot find a certain colour

Items that are currently out of stock are deactivated in our online shop. As soon as they arrive, they will be reactivated in the shop.

If the colour you want is not currently available, please get in touch with us.

E-Mail: supatex-eu@latex-berlin.de

We will be happy to let you know when it will be available.

Can I get a custom colour?

We are able to manufacture custom colours, but MOQs will vary dependant on the colour and thickness you require.

We manufacture this based on our minimum liquid batch, which will vary on thickness and width as to how much material this will produce.

Please email us with your requirements and we can advise if we are able to do this and arrange a quote accordingly. We will start by arranging a small colour sample and once this is approved, lead time is approx. 8-10 weeks.

I forgot to order something, can I add to my order?

If an order is still awaiting process and has not yet been dispatched, we can add items to be shipped with this order.

Please contact us advising your order number and the products you wish to add at the earliest opportunity. We will then raise a pro forma invoice for the additional items, which will require payment before the whole order can be shipped, this may also include additional shipping costs if it carries into the next weight bracket.

Please note; dispatch date is subject to change and if additions are not paid for ahead of the advised estimated dispatch date, this can delay the whole order (including original items).

Can I return latex by the metre?

Unless the material has a defect, we are unfortunately unable to take back latex by the metre. It is cut to the appropriate length at the customer's request, which we are then unable to resell without a financial loss. For this reason, we are unable to accept returns of latex metre goods.
We therefore recommend that you take a close look at the colours with the help of a colour sample set before purchasing.
Please note: Computer monitors always distort the colour impression somewhat. A realistic impression can only be obtained by viewing a sample of the material.

You can buy sets of latex samples here:

SUPATEX Material

Is Supatex ethically made?

Our raw material latex is tapped from rubber trees, sourced through our suppliers from only creditable plantations in Thailand and Malaysia and they will audit these directly, as well as third-party, to meet guidelines for each country.

We then use the raw material and manufacture our latex sheeting within the UK and follow all UK and EU guidelines for this process with regards to both the manufacturing process and for all of our employees.

Is SUPATEX Latex vegan?

We cannot officially state that the material is Vegan as we cannot 100% guarantee, however we have received statements from our raw material suppliers, and from our own manufacturing team confirming that as far as we are aware, no product derived from animals enters our fashion latex and this includes Casein, as it is not something we add.

Is latex safe to wear and what if I have allergies?

Latex rubber is generally considered non-hazardous for use as clothing. However, natural latex does contain proteins and vulcanising accelerators which can give rise to allergic reactions. Persons who know they are susceptible to allergic reactions from latex should avoid contact with Supatex. In the event of an allergic reaction, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Latex thicknesses

We have been using our own descriptions for latex thicknesses for over 25 years. As 4D - Supatex has since changed them, the two sets of terms now differ.

Here is an overview of the latex thickness designations:

4D Our description
0,2 mm 0,25 mm
0,33 mm 0,35 mm
0,45 mm 0,50 mm
0,55 mm 0,60 mm
0,65 mm 0,70 mm
0,8 mm 0,90 mm
0,92 mm 1,00 mm
1,05 mm 1,20 mm
1,50  mm 1,50 mm

How do I know what thickness I need?

We believe that the thickness you prefer/find easier to work with is a matter of personal preference and also depends on your application.  The thinner the material, the more stretchy and delicate it is (and the more transparent the S/T colours are), and the thicker it is, the more durable and less stretchy it is. The S/T colours also become less transparent, which is why we only manufacture them up to a thickness of 0.45 mm.

The most common materials are:

0.35 mm - Fine latex for T-shirts, underwear and dresses.
0.60 mm - A medium thickness. This is suitable for jeans and loose-fitting jackets, for example.
0.90 mm and thicker - Heavy latex. These films are used to make heavy jackets and bondage items.

If you do not know which thickness you need, we recommend purchasing our colour sample set. This contains all the colours we produce in each series, as well as one sample of each thickness for reference. Please note that we recommend a tolerance of 10% above and below the recommended thickness.

What are the widths of your latex sheeting rolls?

Our standard roll/sheet width is 92 cm, unless otherwise stated on the product page. However, we also offer 2 m wide latex.

You can easily select the latex available in this width using the menu at the bottom left of the overview page. We can produce our other standard colours in a width of 2 m, but a higher minimum order quantity applies than that specified on the website for black. We cannot produce our 0.2 mm thick products in widths greater than 92 cm.

Do you offer trim in other colours than on the website?

We have latex trim in stock, as specified in the latex strips section, but the colour selection is limited.

If you would like one of our other latex colours cut into strips, this is possible, but you must purchase a full 92 cm roll and there will be an additional 15% cutting fee on top of the price per metre. We sell the rolls in the usual length and then cut them from the total width. For trim, you would need to purchase a whole minimum roll (5 m/10 m/15 m etc. x 92 cm wide), which we would then cut into narrower strips (e.g. a 92 cm wide roll would yield 46 rolls with a width of 2 cm). If you would like to order this, please send us an email.

Wie lagere ich Latex?

If possible, store latex rolls in their original packaging (if you have ordered whole rolls) or repackage them to protect the latex, and do not store them in brightly lit or heated areas. Store different colours separately, especially light and dark colours, as they may rub off on each other.

Latex rubber can discolour and eventually disintegrate when exposed to heat (including radiators), sunlight and light with a high UV content. Do not store it in damp conditions (including heavily air-conditioned rooms).

Keep latex away from open flames and fire, as latex burns easily.

Latex permanently discolours to brown when it comes into contact with copper, brass or bronze. Light colours can even turn brown when touched after handling copper coins. Therefore, be sure to keep these away from your latex.

We recommend storing latex clothing in a black garment bag in a dry cupboard or drawer, lightly dusted with talcum powder when not in use.

Accessories for care and storage can be found here.

What are the material properties of latex??

We have compiled the safety data sheets and information about the material properties under Latex Care and Information.
